Rosewood Is Out, Walnut Is In for Moto X Wood Back Options

Rosewood was an option on MotoMaker.com for a little while, but it’s already gone. It has been replaced by an option for walnut instead. The rosewood for walnut swap happened a couple of weeks ago. Rosewood was only ever an option due to a bug on Motorola’s part. They’ve fixed the issue and switched us back to walnut. The other wood options, teak, bamboo, and ebony, are still there just the way they were.

Motorola is clearing out stocks of the Moto X. They put the smartphone on sale for $100 off on June 4 and 5, and now they’ve put the phone on sale today for just a penny if you want to try it out for 14 days. The one penny trial deal is available for today, June 9. It’s only available while supplies last, but you still have a few hours if you want to get in on the deal. You can build your own custom Moto X on MotoMaker.com and then take two weeks to decide if you want to keep the device. Motorola is banking on you loving the Moto X and keeping it, once you have one in your hands.

The Moto X is on sale on eBay today too. The 16GB Moto X is available for just $274. This deal is only for today only, as well. You’ll want to move quickly if you want to take advantage of it. Here’s a link for that if you want to snag one. There are other devices on sale on eBay today, too. The Nexus 7 (2013) 32GB version is $199, the Galaxy S4 is just $349, the LG G2 is $432.99, and the Nexus 5 16GB can be yours for $334. Today is a good day to pick up a new device!

Motorola is rolling out Android 4.4.3 KitKat to the Moto X already. It’s already available for most Nexus devices, but users will begin to see it on their Motorola devices in the coming weeks. It should be out now for the Moto X and Moto G. The OTA will be rolling out to users who want to wait, but for those of you that don’t, you can get flashable .zips from XDA.
