The long and arduous wait is over for you Galaxy Note II owners out there that are on Verizon‘s network. According to Sammobile Verizon Wireless has begun sending out the update for Android 4.4. Kit Kat to users of the Samsung Galaxy Note II. There are many reason why this is a good thing, like the use of Google Cloud printing for one, but past that there are a good number of other reasons why Note II owners should be happy that this update is finally here. Now, just because Verizon Wireless has begun sending out the update to the Note II, doesn’t mean that you’ll be getting the update right this moment or even today for that matter. Updates as always, can take a little time even if the rollout has started so you might be looking at a couple of days before it actually hits your device. Until you see that update icon pop up in your status bar you can always feel free to go into your device settings where you check for software updates and manually check to see if it’s available for you.
Now this particular update actually brings the Galaxy Note II up to Android 4.4.2, making it almost 100% current. The OTA update carries the build number of KOT49H.I605VRUFND7, and along with the regular Kit Kat based features like the white icons in the status bar and a little bit faster performance as well as ART, Note II owners will now also get the KNOX 2.0 software, and support for the Gear 2 smartwatch in case you were thinking about picking one of those up.
Of course you should also expect to see the addition of one or two Verizon based things, more bloatware for example. Other than that though users should over all have a great experience being ushered in to the latest Android version available. Is anyone on Verizon still using their Galaxy Note II? If so are you just going to wait out the time for the update to hit your device or will you be tapping the software update check button like a frantic mad man?
