Google Glass Now Available in UK Play Store, For a Cool £1,000

Google’s controversial wearable technology is now available across the pond in the UK, although it’s far from cheap. Coming in at £1,000, Glass is perhaps the most expensive thing available from the Play Store. Of course, if you’re fully aware of what it costs, why it costs so much, and what it means to be a Google Glass Explorer, then this could £1,000 well spent. You’re all probably familiar with the headgear by now, and while it’s taken its sweet time to get to the UK, Glass is finally available in good ol’ blighty.

Moto G 4G Now Available from Phones 4U

Arguably one of the best budget-minded smartphones out there – Android or otherwise – the Moto G has been something of a success for Motorola in the UK, and has helped them put their name back on the map in a region where they’ve absent for quite some time now. Recently, Motorola announced a 4G version of the Moto G, and it’s now available from Phones 4U on a range of different contract plans as well as from £159.99 unlocked. While that only gets you a 4GB device, the 4G version of the Moto G features a microSD card slot for expansion.

Arise to Bring Android TVs to the Indian Market

Smart TVs have been on the market for some time now, and while Android TV has been officially announced during Google I/O earlier this month, Android 4.2.2 still has something different to offer. Or at least, that’s what Arise is thinking, as they prepare a line of Android-powered TVs for the Indian market, with sizes ranging from 32 to 84-inches and prices starting as low as RS 35,000. While Android 4.2.2 might not sound like much, especially with Android TV on its way, it still looks like these sets will have all the services you’re after.

Dixons Warehouse Merger Approved by European Commission

In case you hadn’t heard, Carphone Warehouse and the Dixons Group (which is Currys and PC World) are set to merge to create one of the largest retail groups in the UK. They previously announced the intention to merge back in February and now they’ve gotten their approval from the European Commission. The £3.8 Billion deal is to go ahead, and those in charge of the deal say it could lead to more jobs being created. Competition might fall to the wayside though, with so much of the market cornered, with Comet no longer trading, it seems their only competition will be supermarkets and Phones 4U. Hopefully, this merger spells good news for the UK market rather than bad.

Tesco Offers Three-Months of Free Blinkbox Music With Certain Upgrades

If you’re interested in upgrading on Tesco Mobile, the supermarket giant might have something up their sleeve to persuade you further. With select smartphones – including the Samsung Galaxy S5, HTC One M8 or the Sony Xperia Z2 – Tesco Mobile is giving users three-months worth of free streaming from their Blinkbox service, including streaming over 4G for nothing else. There’s 12 Million or so tracks available in the service right now, and contracts that are eligible start from around £30 or so. Just remember though, Tesco Mobile runs off of O2’s network, so if their data coverage near you is poor, it won’t get any better with Tesco Mobile.
