Acer to Launch Their First Chromebook With the CXI2610

It seems that Acer is finally going to launch a Chrome OS based desktop named Chromebox CXI2610. They have already got a laptop with Chome OS by the name of Acer Chromebook C270 and Chrome OS based Desktop named as Asus Chromebox. The information about this was revealed in their official brochure (about their products in 2014) which was published last month in June 2014, so there are no details about its price and launch date as of now. The same source has also revealed about the 2 to-be-launched Laptops with Chrome OS, which are Acer C730 (Intel Bay Trail Processors) and Acer CB5-311 (Nvidia Tegra Processor) Let us tell you about the details of this new upcoming Chromebox CXI2610.

The Chromebox CXI 2610 will be available with an Intel Celron Processor 2957U, which is Dual Core Processor operating at the frequency of 1.4 GHz and supported by 2MB of Cache Memory. This performance will be further supported by 8GB DDR3 SDRAM and an Intel HD Graphics GPU. Apart from this you may see this desktop in 2 different variants, one with 16GB SSD support and the other with 32GB SSD. It will also have an HDMI port, 4 USB 2.0/3.0 ports, 1 PCI Mini Express Slot and Gigabit Ethernet for a wired option to connect to the internet. It will weigh nearly 1.1 pounds and its physical dimensions would be 6.8″ x 5.5″ x  2.25″. As evident from the screenshot posted below, it will be available with a stand, something which is really needed for these small boxes and was not available in the last Chromebox by Asus.

Samsung and Asus also have their respective Desktop with Chrome OS in the market by the name of the Samsung Chromebox XE300M22-B01US and there’s also the Asus Chromebox-M004u Desktop. Where the Chromebox CXI2610 is better in terms of RAM memory and weight, Samsung’s Chromebox XE300M22-B01US counters them with its better processor and larger number of USB ports but, Asus Chromebox-M004u Desktop falls a little behind as per these parameters. Both of these Chrome OS desktops by Samsung and Asus will offer a good competition to the (soon-to-be-launched) Chromebox CXI2610 by Acer as their hardware specifications are quite close to one another. Stay tuned to get more details.
