It looks like Virgin Mobile’s portfolio is about to get a pretty big upgrade. According to a leak coming from Evleaks, it appears that the prepaid carrier will be getting four new devices very shortly. Now the HTC Desire 816 has been available in other parts of the world for a bit now and it appears to be coming to Virgin Mobile. The Desire 816 is a 5.5-inch 720p device with front-facing Boomsound speakers, Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 1.5GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage along with a microSD card slot, and a 2600mAh battery.
Now in terms of the LG Unify and LG Pulse, we don’t actually know what these two will be featuring as they haven’t been announced elsewhere. But it’s likely to be part of the LG L series, which are typically low end or mid-range devices. Like the LG L90 which was launched a little while ago on T-Mobile and is actually a pretty decent mid-range device. Then there’s the ZTE Emblem, which we also have no idea what kind of device this will be. But it’s more than likely going to be a mid-range device again. It might even be a larger device, kinda like the Boost Max, which is actually the ZTE Iconic Phablet, which is available on Virgin Mobile’s sister network, Boost Mobile.
Virgin Mobile isn’t the best prepaid option out there, but then again “the best” really depends on what you need from your carrier and location. If you live in an area that gets great coverage from Sprint, you’ll probably be fine with Virgin Mobile as it does run on Sprint’s network. Otherwise you may want to just try it out first before leaving your current carrier. They do have a nice selection of smartphones though, and a lot of Sprint’s variants head to Virgin Mobile and Boost Mobile after release.
