At Google I/O last month, LG and Samsung both launched their first Android Wear smartwatches. The G Watch and Gear Live respectively. While the LG G Watch has been the more expensive of the two, it’s only been available in a couple of countries until today. Which it’s now available in 12 countries. AT&T will also start selling it on July 11th alongside the LG G3. And if you buy the LG G3 and the G Watch together, you’ll get the G Watch for 50% off, which isn’t a half bad deal, in my mind. Right now the LG G Watch is available for $229, and only at Google Play, but we should see it hitting other retailers like Amazon and eBay pretty soon. According to LG:
“LG G Watch will be available both online and offline in twelve countries: United States, Canada, France, Ireland, Germany, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom, Australia, India, Japan and South Korea. In fifteen other countries, among which include key markets such as Brazil, Mexico, Russia, Singapore and New Zealand, the LG G Watch will be available at retailers. Prices will be announced locally in each market.”
It’s great to see the LG G Watch, and Android Wear more specifically, getting launched in more and more countries. I haven’t gotten hands on with the LG G Watch myself, but I’ve heard great things about it and even better things about the software. Which we’ll have plenty of content on both the LG G Watch and the Samsung Gear Live over the next few weeks. And even the Moto 360 when that finally becomes available later this summer. Which that’s the one that everyone is looking forward to getting. Am I right?
