LG G3 Coming to Canada on August 1 -Rogers, Bell, MTS, Videotron and SaskTel

LG made a great announcement today for those customers that live in Canada waiting for the new flagship LG G3.  Rogers, Bell, MTS, SaskTel and Videotron are all reporting they will be carrying the new LG G3 and it will be available August 1 – which seems like forever if you are waiting, but it will be here before we know it.  According to our source, the LG G3 will also be available at Tbooth, The Source, Wireless Wave, Wireless, Etc. and Wow Mobile and all carriers that they support.  The device should be available across the country and just in time for the ‘back to school’ timeline.

The LG G3 going to Canada will be optimized for that particular market and support LTE on AWS as well as 2600 and 700MHz.  The first thing you will notice about the device is the 5.5-inch 2560 x 1440 resolution IPS Display with an eye popping 538 pixels-per-inch (ppi) – a first in Canada.  The Canadian version will sport the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.5GHz and packing 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.  The G3 will also come with a microSD card slot capable of adding up to 128GB of internal storage.  The camera is sporting a 13MP main camera with OIS+, dual LED Flash and Laser Auto Focus with a 2.1MP front-facing camera (ffc) for video chatting and selfies. Powering the LG G3 is a 3,000mAh battery and it is running Android 4.4.2 with Optimus UI.

The LG G3 has a look that makes it smooth and sexy – thin bezels, curved sides and a back that is plastic, but coated with a metallic finish that looks pretty sweet – how it will hold up over time with nicks and scrapes remains to be seen.  The new UI on the LG has a cleaner, ‘flatter’ look and makes Android 4.4.2 look great. All of the nice software touches are on there – Knock Code for easy access to your locked device – Smart Notice – Smart Keyboard – Smart Cleaning – Dual Window – Q Slide – Q Remote – and great camera software…something to really look forward to.
