Acer Launches Liquid X1 With Hopes of Becoming A Top 5 Vendor in Taiwan Within 2 Years

As being one of the many device’s announced by Acer back in June, the Liquid X1 has started selling as of last week. The device is a large smartphone rocking a 5.7 inch display. As of right now, the Liquid X1 is only being sold in Acer’s home country of Taiwan is expected to make its move to Europe and across Asia in the coming months. What really makes this phone special is the price. The Liquid X1 will cost just $265 in Taiwan. According to PhoneArena, the low price is Acers strategy to become the top 5 smartphone vendors in Taiwan in just two years. Now thats a pretty big goal to achieve, so we’ll have to see what the next two years will bring us.

Now moving on over to specs, the Acer Liquid X1 currently runs on Android KitKat 4.4. Amazingly, the phone is just 8.5mm thin. As said earlier, the handset has a 5.7 inch display and  has a screen resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. The weight of the device is precisely 164 grams which is extremely light. The handset comes in two colors; black and red. Under the hood, the Liquid X1 features LTE Cat 4 technology. The processor the X1 runs on is a octa-core MediaTek MT6592 clocking in at 1.7GHz. In addition to processing power, the handset comes equipped with 16GB of native storage and only 2GB of RAM. Thankfully, you are not stuck with the 16GB given to you because you can up the storage using a microSD card. The battery on this device is 2,700 mAh and can be removed if needed. Going back to the exterior of the handset, found on the back of the Liquid X1 is a 13 megapixel camera with LED flash and free focus mode. The free focus mode on this camera is pretty legit, letting you refocus a picture after you have taken it.

With Acer making goals of becoming one of the top 5 vendors in Taiwan, this new smartphone should push them up a bit in the ranks. The specs and hardware are nice and the camera sounds awesome.
