If you live in the Indian region of the globe and have been interested in Samsung’s Galaxy S5 this year, there’s no doubt that it’ll cost a pretty penny to get a hold of one at retail cost. There are other options out there though, especially if you like the phone more for the design and some of the features and specs, and not because it’s a Samsung device. Enter the Wickedleak Wammy Note 3 which will be launching in the Indian market in the near future, a device that looks very close to the Samsung Galaxy S5 and even sports some similar specs. Aside from the same styling and overall look, the Wickedleak Wammy Note 3 also sports an octa-core processor inside to power all of the phone’s tasks, specifically an octa-core MediaTek 6592 CPU clocked at 1.7GHz.
It also comes with a 5.2-inch display that carries a resolution of 1920 x 1080, and the same 2GB of RAM you can find on the Galaxy S5. Internal memory though is quite a bit lower than the Galaxy S5, with the Wickedleak Wammy Note 3 only coming with 8GB of internal storage. However there is a microSD card slot so users can expand on the internal storage amount if they need to. Something that could be a likely scenario if you’re a power user and a file hoarder. On the camera side of things, the Wammy Note 3 sports a rear facing camera of 13MP quality, and the front facing shooter comes in at 5MP.
Consumers who pick up the Wickedleak Wammy Note 3 will be looking at getting a dose of Android 4.4 Kit Kat, as well as a whopping 3,800 mAh battery on the inside to keep the device going throughout the day. The best part about this device though for consumers might be the optional waterproof coating that Wickedleaks will apply to the device for an extra cost. The device will end up costing 12,990 INR but for an extra 1,500 INR customers can make the phone waterproof so as not to damage should it get wet. Those prices equate to about $215 USD, with an additional $25 for the Aqua Protect waterproof coating applied to the device. That brings the total to about $240 USD for all of what you get, which isn’t bad at all. For those interested, the device will be available starting September 1st from the company website.
