More Huawei Ascend Mate 7 Images leaked prior to IFA launch

As we edge closer and closer to the start of IFA next week it is no surprise that we are starting to hear (and see) a lot of leaked information and images about the upcoming IFA releases. Two days ago we brought you leaked images of Huawei’s upcoming Ascend Mate 7 device. The images showed both the front and back faces of the device confirming the inclusion of rumoured aspects like an extremely low bezel count and fingerprint scanner. Today we are now receiving more leaked images which again confirm the look and style of the device along with more side on viewing highlighting how thin the device will be.

For those of you who missed our earlier reports the Ascend 7 is looking like an interesting smartphone. This is certainly going to be one of the largest phones out there with a rumoured 6.1″ screen which will offer Full HD via a 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution and therefore certainly falling into the phablet range. The device will be powered using Huawei’s own Kirin Octa-Core processor which will clock at around 1.8GHz. In addition, the device is expected to launch with a 13MP camera along with a front facing 5MP shooter. In terms of memory the device will offer 2GB RAM, contain a 16GB internal memory and offer additional external capability via its SD card slot to a maximum of 128GB.

The new images popped up on China’s number one social network site, Weibo, confirming the earlier leaked images from the side view. Again these images show the device comes loaded with a fingerprint scanner on its back along with a squared off back camera. Today’s images also again highlight this device will come with an extremely low-level bezel count which results in a very thin looking surround around a lot of screen real-estate. A low bezel count, seems to be a big selling point this year. It will be interesting to see how the Ascend 7 fairs against both the Meizu MX4 and the Sharp Aquos Crystal which both claim they will offer the thinnest screens with the lowest bezel counts possible. In terms of availability there are no firm announcements in terms of release dates for the Ascend 7 although it is highly expected to be launched next week at IFA with Huawei announcing a press conference for September 4th. The device will launch in two versions (MT7-CL00 and MT7-TL00), will run on Android 4.4.2 (KitKat) and launch in both black and white.
