Huawei Ascend Mate 7 is expected to be announced at Huawei’s IFA event in Berlin on September 4th, Huawei even released an IFA teaser which suggests we’ll see this device launched there. About a week ago, this device got certified by TENAA, which is China’s equivalent to the FCC (Federal Communications Commission). Now we got ahold of some new images for you which surfaced on Chinese social network Weibo. At a first glance the device really reminds me of HTC One Maxx, similar form factor and of course it has that fingerprint scanner on the back. This device doesn’t have front facing speakers like HTC’s offering does, but it does have a much thinner bezels overall though. Just look at those extremely thin bezels on the sides. It’s going to be interesting to compare this thing to Meizu MX4 and see which one has thinner bezels.
As far as specs go, this device is expected to sport a huge 6.1-inch 1080p Full HD (1920 x 1080) display along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage (expandable via MicroSD card up to 128GB, just in case you need more space). Huawei’s very own Kirin octa-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz is expected to power this thing with Android 4.4.2 KitKat being the operating system of choice here. 13-megapixel camera will probably be located at the back of the device with the 5-megapixel shooter being placed at the front for all your selfies and video calls. This device measures 157 x 81 x 7.9mm and weights 185 grams. The device is expected to be available in black and white colors, with gold option available on some specific markets. The device will come in two variants according to TENAA, MT7-CL00 and the MT7-TL00. The CL00 has network support for GSM/CDMA/TD-LTE while the TL00 covers GSM/TD-SCDMA/TD-LTE. There was also some talk about a MT7-TL10 version of the device which would pack 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, we’ll find out soon enough.
It’s not exactly a secret IFA will be packed this year. Basically every major manufacturer will make an appearance there, though technically they’ll hold separate events prior to IFA, considering IFA starts on September 5th. Other than Ascent Mate 7, Huawei is expected to showcase its Ascend P7 with sapphire screen at that event.
