We’ve seen a ton of Meizu MX4 leaks thus far. The most interesting of the bunch is probably the one where the front panel leaked and showed us those amazingly thin side bezels which made lots of people drool over. The alleged device leaked previously in images as well. Previously leaked specifications claimed that the device will feature a Snapdragon 805 processor along with 3GB of RAM and a 13MP rear-facing with the 5MP camera being located on the front of the device. Weibo seems to be full of Meizu leaks, so we got a new one today showing us alleged specifications and photos of this device.
This leak says that the standard edition of MX4 will sport a 5.4″ display 1800 x 1800 in resolution while the MX4 Pro will feature a beautiful QHD 2K panel 2560 x 1535 in resolution. MediaTek’s processor are expected to power the entry-level models devices and Samsung’s chips should be in charge of the high-end ones. MX4 Pro is expected to feature Samsung’s Exynos 5433 while the MX4 could sport MediaTek’s MT6595 chip. Dual ES9018MK2 Hi-Fi audio decoder chip is also expected to be a part of the deal as well as 3GB of RAM and Flyme 4.0 OS by Meizu.
All of this sounds fine and dandy, but the question is how will these devices stack up to the current offerings out there. We still don’t know which markets will Meizu launch these devices at, we’ll get that information when the device gets officially announced. Though we can assume Asia will be their primary target considering they are amongst the top selling brands over there, especially China. We will probably see this device on other markets too, though we doubt Meizu intends to go head-to-head with Samsung, LG, Sony and others on a global scale. I hope I’m wrong because launching devices like this on a global scale would definitely create more competition and thus bring the prices down and probably even push innovation along the way. We’ll have to wait for Meizu to announce MX4 in all its variant in order to see what are their plans. The device is expected to launch this month according to the rumors, though nothing is for sure just yet.
