Motorola has already announced its September 4 event in Chicago and teased Moto X+1, Moto G2 and Moto 360 announcements along the way. September is going to be an extremely busy month considering a ton of press events / device announcements as part of IFA in Berlin. Interesting enough though Motorola decided to hold their event in Chicago instead of Germany, which seemed a bit odd considering they’re expected to widen their horizons in the coming year(s). Well, Motorola announced a separate even in India for September 5th, “Mark 05 September on your calendar” is what they said in the invitation.
Latest rumor says that Motorola might announce 8 new devices before Christmas this year, if that’s true we’re quite certain some unexpected devices will show up on September 5th in India. Other than possible surprises, Motorola might separately announce Moto X+1, Moto G2 and Moto 360 over there, or at least some of these devices. Original Moto X wasn’t exactly available worldwide, so maybe Motorola’s planing to change that with the refresh. Moto G2 is going to launch in a lot of markets worldwide for sure, even the first iteration has seen a rather significant market coverage. Moto 360 is a mystery when it comes to market availability at this point though.
According to GFXBench, Moto X+1 is expected to sport a 5.2-inch 1080p display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage along with a 12-megapixel rear-facing and 2-megapixel front-facing cameras. Android 4.4 KitKat is also said to be a part of the package, along with other specifications. As for the Moto G2, the latest rumors say it will sport a 5-inch display 720p in resolution, a 1.2GHz quad-core CPU (probably a Snapdragon 400), 8GB of internal storage (expandable via MicroSD card) and an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera. This device’s price is expected to be around $250. The last, but not the least, is Moto 360 Android Wear smartwatch. This is the Android Wear smartwatch most people have been waiting for and have decided not to purchase current offerings until they see what Motorola has to offer. Thanks to previous leaks and a BestBuy listing, we know quite a lot about this device at this point. Moto 360 is said to sport a Texas Instruments CPU (to the surprise of many who expected a Snapdragon 400 in there) along with a 1.5-inch LCD display 320 x 290 in resolution and 512MB of internal storage. IP67 certification for water and dust resistance will allegedly also be a part of the package along with bluetooth 4.0 a heart rate monitor and a pedometer. The device will have a steel construction with the plastic on the back.
Do you think Motorola will announce all 3 of these devices in India or not? What else do you think we’ll see there on September 5th?
