Samsung announced its Galaxy S5 Mini device last month and it seems that the version with Dual SIM capability is also ready to go. Galaxy S5 Mini Duos (SM-G800H) has been listed on Samsung’s official India website, it is due to launch there pretty soon. As far as other markets go I guess we’ll get more information when the Samsung launches the thing.
Galaxy S5 Mini Duos will of course be almost identical to the Galaxy S5, the only differentiating factors are the additional SIM card slot and the fact this model doesn’t support 4G LTE. So, we’re talking a 4.5″ 720p (1280 x 720) Super AMOLED display along 1.5GB of RAM and Samsung’s Exynos 3 Quad 3470 1.4 quad-core processor. Mali-400MP4 GPU is there for graphics performance and the device will come with Android 4.4.2 (KitKat) pre-installed over which Samsung will place its usual TouchWiz skin with a slew of their own software features. On the back of the device you’ll be able to find an 8MP main camera and on the front a 2.1 shooter. The phone will have IP67 certification for water and dust resistance as well. 2100mAh battery will juice up the phone and od its best to last you a full day’s use. The device will have only 16GB of internal storage, but it will be expandable via MicroSD card up to 64GB if that’s something you need. As far as the other specs go… 3G, dual band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, USB 2.0, Bluetooth v4.0 LE, NFC and GPS are also a part of the package as well as an infrared sensor on the top.
Samsung released their premium Galaxy Alpha device earlier today (premium as far as build goes at least), they seem to be on the same path when it comes to launching smartphone, following “the more the merrier” motto. Anyhow, If you’re interested in the Galaxy Mini Duos, it will be available in Charcoal Black, Shimmery White, Electric Blue and Copper Gold colors. It will launch in India first and we’ll see which other markets Samsung mentions when they launch the thing. It is expected to arrive in the coming weeks.
