Will The Luxurious Moto 360 Be Made Out of Plastic?

Since Google I/O, a lot of us have been drooling over promotional ads and pictures floating around on the internet of the Moto 360. The smartwatch is practically the most talked about device this year and it hasn’t even come out yet. The Moto 360 was kept under wraps for a while but now the device is treated as if it were being sold. Over the past couple months, we have been shown its beautifully built round display with its leather or metal watch bands. The smartwatch tops any other wearable that is currently available in the market. Overall, the Moto 360 is luxurious and sets the standard for fashionable watches all around. But how luxurious is the Moto 360? A new rumor suggest otherwise about the Moto 360 claiming that those beautiful shots of the “metal” Moto 360 are not real.

Ever since the unveiling of the Moto 360, we have been lead to believe that this smart watch is built from high quality material such as its sapphire display. We have also been lead to believe that the Moto 360 is supposed to have incredible specs and have a very high price tag. Apparently, the smartwatch is supposed to be difficult to assemble due to the round display. To really simplify it all, we have been told a lot of things. According to a source, the Moto 360 will not be made of metal but of plastic. Sound depressing right? Well the source also indicates that the Moto 360 will come with wireless charging but there is a catch, thickness of the smartwatch will be increased to 13.5mm. Thats pretty thick compared to the LG G Watch that is only 9.9mm. Lastly, the source claims that the smartwatch will be 48mm in diameter, making the watch fairly big.

As of right now, this is what we know so far about the Moto 360 and what it will be made of. It seems that we have been fooled by Motorolas marketing campaign. The news as of right now could be inaccurate, not to mention that we have no official word from Motorola themselves. In the meantime let us know your thoughts about the Moto 360 being plastic. Will a plastic build turn you away from buying this “premium” product? Sound off in the comments.
