AT&T To Add Moto 360 To Their Portfolio Of Devices

Motorola has announced their new portfolio of devices recently at their Chicago event. New version of Moto X and Moto G smartphones were unveiled as well as the long-awaited Moto 360 smartwatch and Motorola’s Moto Hint bluetooth headset which pretty much surprised everyone. Moto 360 is arguably the most interesting out of the bunch and the demand has been significant, as expected. It’s just a matter of time before carriers get their hands on this smartwatch and start selling it.

AT&T announced that it will carry the Moto 360 smartwatch, although we already knew that basically. “AT&T today confirmed that it will add the Moto 360 to its industry-leading portfolio of devices and accessories. Pricing and availability will be announced at a later date.” was their official press statement. They didn’t release any additional info except device’s specifications and general information about the company, you can see the full press release down below if you follow the source link.

Moto 360 features a 1.56-inch 320 x 290 backlit LCD round display covered with Gorilla Glass 3 for protection. The bottom part of it is reserved for internals, so you get a thin black bar instead of a full circular display. This seems to bother some people though I guess their option was this or to make the watch even thicker, I believe Motorola made the right call. Texas Instruments OMAP 3 CPU is powering this watch unlike the Snapdragon 400 which you can find in the majority of Android Wear smartwatches these days. 512MB of RAM is also included as well as 4GB of internal storage. The watch has IP67 certification for water and dust resistance and comes with bluetooth 4.0 for connectivity. It is currently available for purchase via Motorola or Google Play Store and comes with a leather strap while the stainless steel one will be available later this year. The diameter of the watch is 46mm and it is 11.5mm thick while it weighs only 49 grams.

Moto 360 will definitely find its way to more carriers soon. This watch will face some tough competition from already launched LG G Watch and Samsung Gear Live Android Wear smartwatches as well as the upcoming G Watch R and Asus ZenWatch smartwatches. It is of course worth mentioning that Samsung recently showcased its Tizen-based Gear S smartwatch and Apple is expected to launch the iWatch today.
