Digitsole is hitting Kickstarters today, collecting money for the first interactive insole that not only provides you with information on steps taken and calories burned – it also acts as a foot warmer. With the Digitsole App on your smartphone, you can individually control the temperature of each insole. The insoles can be used in your tennis or dress shoes or even in a boot. Early Bird packages for Kickstarter backers start at $99.00 for a pair of black Digitsoles with expected delivery around January 2015…eventually available in black, red, green, yellow and blue.
Because the sensor is placed directly in the insole, you can receive a much more accurate reading of what your feet are doing, rather than the new wearable wristbands. By using the companion App on your smartphone, you can collect, track and store the information – by entering your height and weight, it will help you determine how many calories you expended.
Thanks to its new Shock Heel System, Digitsole helps with general posture and it offers a supportive arch. Molded from Neotech, the insole softens the shock and spreads the vibrations from your foot across the insole. There is a Flex Zone at the front of the insole that helps optimize the natural movement of your foot as it bends. Karim Oumnia, Digitsole Engineer said:
“It’s fantastic to finally be bringing Digitsole to Kickstarter. Being able to offer a product that combines multiple health benefits and cutting-edge technology is a great prospect. We hope this sentiment is echoed by the Kickstarter community. We’re excited to be ringing in the new era of smart clothing, and we’re absolutely delighted to be sharing it with a crowd that we know values innovation and creative, functional design.”
Each Digitsole weighs only 3.5 ounces (100 to 120 grams) and measures 0.5-inch thick at the heel and less than 0.25-inches at the toe and made out of Neotech and Poron. It connects to your smartphone via Bluetooth 4.0 – this connection allows you to adjust the temperature up to 104 degrees Fahrenheit (40 degrees Celsius) and collect the distance you traveled in miles or meters. The battery will give your 7-8 hours of continuous operation and then recharges via twin USB chargers. You can order them in sizes EUR 36 to 46.
Please hit us up on our Google+ Page and let us know what you think of the Digitsole – is this a product that you could use and will you be going to Kickstarters to help them out? Would you use it just to heat your feet or are you interested in the distance/calorie factor as well..as always, we you love to hear from you.
