Google Nexus 6 / X: What Kind of Display Will it Have?

We’ve already gone over a lot of aspects of the Nexus 6. But one thing we haven’t gone over is the display. Now usually the Nexus is a cheap device. Usually running around $350 unlocked for the 16GB model. So that immediately makes me think we won’t be seeing the Quad HD or 2K display that the LG G3 and Samsung Galaxy Note 4 have, on the Nexus 6. Simply because it’ll cost too much. Even though we’ve been seeing it leaked in all kinds of Nexus rumors lately. I still think 1080p has plenty of pixels, especially when it comes to a 5.2-inch device, I mean that’s why the LG G3 jumped to 5.5 inches, well part of the reason.

So what kind of technology will it be? Will it be another IPS display like we had on the Nexus 4 and Nexus 5, or will it go back AMOLED like the Galaxy Nexus and Nexus S had? Well seeing as it is being made by Motorola this year, I’d be surprised if it weren’t an AMOLED display. And that’s because Motorola has been using AMOLED displays for years now. They’ve been using it in their recent devices because of Active Display/Moto Display – which likely won’t be in the Nexus 6 – so we’ll have to keep our eyes and ears out and open to see what happens here.

How many of you are excited to see what kind of display the Nexus 6 gets this year? Let us know in the comments below.
