Huawei Unveils Metal-Bodied Ascend G7 Smartphone Sporting a 5.5-Inch Display and 2GB Of RAM

Pre-IFA events just keep on coming and along with them a slew of new devices. Huawei just launched a new mid-range smartphone which is made mostly out of metal, Huawei Ascend G7. Sounds appealing? Read on. The device packs a 5.5-inch 720p (1280 x 720, 267ppi) display along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage which is expandable via MicroSD card up to 64GB. This device is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 410 64-bit quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz. 13-megapixel camera comes with a 28mm wide-angle BSI lens which can be found at the back of this device while there’s a 5-megapixel shooter with 88-degree wide-angle lense on the front of it. The device comes with 4G LTE for a fast internet connection and a 3,000mAh battery is included to make sure your device lasts till the end of the day. Ascend G7 comes with Huawei’s EMUI 3.0 UI.

As I said, Ascend G7 body consists mostly out of metal, there’s some plastic on the back though, presumably for a better network connection. The device looks and sounds quite premium and from what we hear it also feels that way in the hand. This actually sounds like a more affordable HTC One (M8), Snapdragon 410 should provide more than enough power accompanied by 2GB of RAM and all that for a sub-€269 price (which is about $355) which Huawei mentioned. Ascend G7 will be available in grey, silver or gold colors starting November 2014.

I’m sure some of you would say that Huawei packed a low-res display on an otherwise solid device, that might be true considering its size. Though this will be plenty enough for majority of people and for a device which sports a Snapdragon 410, 2GB of RAM and a metal body design and will have a sub-€269 price. I’m sure some of you will disagree with me though, so, let me have it. What are your thoughts when it comes to this device, do you like its design and would you consider buying it if it ever becomes available where you live for the mentioned price of course?
