We’ve seen plenty of leaks of the Huawei Ascend Mate 7, and now it’s finally official. The 6-incher – yes you read that right, the Ascend Mate 7 is indeed a 6 inch device – will be available for 499 Euros for the 16GB model and 599 Euros for the 32GB model later this year. Launch countries include China, Hong Kong, UK, Germany, Italy, France and Spain and others to come.
“Today marks the arrival of our fastest and most compelling big-screen smartphone experience for consumers. It’s a symbol of our relentless commitment to ‘Make it Possible’ for people everywhere to enjoy our premium quality products,” said Richard Yu, CEO, Huawei Consumer Business Group. “Huawei Ascend Mate7 actually leads the big-screen pack with smarter performance, impressive power efficiency, and outstanding convenience with its superior single-touch fingerprint technology.”
The Huawei Ascend Mate 7 features a 6-inch full HD IPS display that’s 368PPI, sporting a Huawei Kirin 925 CPU, 4 x Cortex-A15 1.8 GHz quad-core and 4 x Cortex-A7 1.3 GHz chipsets with a Mali T628 GPU. It also has 2GB of RAM paired with 16GB of storage, or 3GB of RAM paired with 32GB of storage. Additionally we have a 13MP camera on the back, along with Android 4.4 Kitkat and Huawei’s Emotion UI v3.0. It’s also got a 4,100mAh battery inside which is slightly larger than the Ascend Mate 2’s battery, but not by much. Dimensions of the Ascend Mate 7 are 157mm(L) x 81mm(W) x 7.9mm(T), and it weighs in at 185g, which makes the Ascend Mate 7 smaller than it’s predecessor the Ascend Mate 2 and lighter weight as well.
Huawei will be making the Ascend Mate 7 available in three colors “Obsidian black, Moonlight silver, and Amber gold”. Huawei is really betting on big phones with yet another 6-inch device, it is slightly smaller than the Ascend Mate 2 (6-inch Mate 7 vs 6.1-inch Mate 2), but it’s clear they think the Mate 7 can sell well. And if the battery life is anything like it was on the Ascend Mate 2, it will be amazing, and a big selling feature for them. Are any of you interested in the Huawei Ascend Mate 7?
