Moto G2's Packaging Surfaces, Picture Was Allegedly Taken At A Flipkart Warehouse

Motorola X+1 is not the only smartphone Motorola will announce at their September 4th event in Chicago. Moto G2 is going to be introduced there as well, as we already know, a direct successor to Motorola’s extremely affordable and yet capable Moto G smartphone which has seen great success worldwide. We’ve see many more leaks of Moto X+1 than the G2 lately, now we have something for you though.

Google+ user, Akshat Mittal, has shared an image of an alleged Moto G2 packaging which has reportedly been taken at a Flipkart warehouse in India. The box itself doesn’t exactly reveal much information, it’s a rather straightforward packaging. There is one odd thing about the box though, it says “Moto G” in the lower left corner, not Moto G2. This could mean that Motorola will keep the Moto G name for this generation as well, similar what Google did with the Nexus 7 (2012 and 2013). On the other hand it doesn’t have to mean anything, perhaps this is not a final retail box or they just wanted to let consumers know that the device is a part of the Moto G line and it will be called Moto G2 in the end. We’ll find out soon enough.

Moto G2 is expected to sport a 5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) display and a 1.2GHz quad-core processor which will most likely be Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 400 (the same chip that was used in the original Moto G). 1GB of RAM is also expected and a small bump in camera resolution compared to the original, Moto G2 will reportedly sport an 8-megapixel main shooter. 16GB of internal memory and front-facing speakers will be featured as well, according to the rumors / leaks at least.

Motorola will announced Moto X+1, Moto G2 and Moto 360 smartwatch at its September 4th event in Chicago. We’ve seen tons of leaks on all these devices and basically know a lot about either of them. Everything will be revealed in soon and until then stay tuned for some more leaks which we’ll share with you, if we see any of course.
