Moto X (2014) vs Samsung Galaxy Note 4 vs HTC One M8 vs LG G3

The new Moto X is finally here and I think it is about everything we were expecting and hoping for – check out the specs below.  There are many detailed articles about the new Moto X on our website, so be sure to check them all out.  As usual, we will do a quick comparison of the Moto X and some of its closest competitors – the newest Galaxy Note 4, HTC One M8 and the LG G3.  While we know that the Galaxy Note 4 is not a direct competitor of the Moto X (2014), we have it up there because it is Samsung’s latest and greatest and it is fun to compare the specs.

As you can see the new Moto X stacks up very well against the HTC One M8 and LG G3…and while we only included one Samsung product…it also stacks up well against the Galaxy S5.  Screen size, Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB/32GB (online for 32GB), although the Moto X does not have the microSD card slot for expansion.  The main camera and front-facing camera (FFC) all compare favorably.  The battery is a little on the ‘light’ side, but the Moto X is so optimized and free of bloatware, we should see good battery life from the device.

For a quick rundown of specs for the new Moto X – we are looking at a 5.2-inch AMOLED Full HD display, which means a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and about 423 Pixels-Per-Inch (PPI).  The venerable Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.5GHz powers the new Moto X.  It comes with 2GB of RAM and a basic 16GB of internal storage – a 32GB model can be ordered online – and there is no microSD card for expansion.  The main Camera is a 13MP shooter and the FFC is 2MP for video chatting and selfies.  The battery only weighs in at 2,300mAh – smaller than the competition – but the way Moto X optimizes everything, it should be just fine.  The battery size may have to do with the curved back and just how thin the new Moto X is: 140.8 x 72.4 x 3.8-9.9mm and a weight of 144 grams.  Of course it has Android 4.4 KitKat on board.

So there you have it…please hook up with us on our Google+ Page and let us know what you think of the new Moto X and if you have one on your radar…as always, we would love to hear from you.
