Motorola has a really big presence in South America, so it’s not really surprising to see price leaks for Motorola’s new smartphones come out of Brazil. Motorola is set to announce these two devices later this week at a special event in Chicago. The Moto G was their cheap but mid-range smartphone last year, which went on sale for $179 and $199 for the 8GB and 16GB respectively. While the Moto X was the normal price for a flagship. However, it appears that the Moto G2 is getting a significant price increase this year.
According to this leak, the Moto G2 is going to cost BRL 999, and the Moto X+1 at BRL 1,499. That translates to about $445/€340 and $670/€505 respectively. Now of course, the prices won’t be as easy as translating them to USD currency, or Euros. But it gives us an idea of where Motorola could be looking to price these two smartphones. As always with leaks, be sure to take this with a grain of salt, as there is a likelihood that it wouldn’t be true. And of course we’ll learn everything about these two devices in just a few days.
The Moto X and Moto G were both pretty big selling devices for the company last year, although the Moto G was arguably the most popular smartphone of all time from Motorola. It was priced pretty cheap and did all the basics quite well. Which is what made it so popular. We’ll be there in Chicago this week for Motorola’s event so we’ll learn everything and then some about both devices. Hopefully Motorola throws in some surprises this year like they did last year. As Motorola’s strength with the Moto X is in software, and the “extra” features they add into their devices. How many of you are excited about the Moto X or the Moto G?
