Last month we wrote about a leaked CPU-Z info about a mysterious Motorola device codenamed “Quark” and carrying XT1254 model number which was allegedly meant for Verizon. CPU-Z was showing a beast of a device as far as specifications go, Snapdragon 805, 3GB of RAM and a QHD 2560 x 1440 display were listed along with Android 4.4.4 KitKat. The CPU-Z listing was the only source of information, we didn’t get an estimated time of arrival or any additional news about that device… up until now that is.
Motorola DROID “Quark” paid a visit to FCC (Federal Communications Commission) and thus basically confirmed its existence. FCC listing reveals that this device supports all Verizon Wireless’ bands while it also includes global roaming GSM bands (850 to 1900). This device is definitely Motorola’s device heading to Verizon, the software version states “5821.0.463.QUARK_VERIZON.EN.US”, just take a look at the listing below. Wi-Fi 802.1 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC are also part of the package according to the documents. Droid Life dug through the documents a bit and find some mentions of Motorola’s Turbo Charger which is featured with the new Moto X device. You can basically get 8 hours of battery life in 15 minutes, features like that are always welcome. This device is 143.49mm tall and 73.33mm wide while there’s no mention on its thickness, this makes it slightly taller and wider than the new Moto X.
I believe many people will be more than happy when / if this device hits Verizon, if previous rumors are true and it turns out to sport beastly specifications. This could even turn out to be new Motorola DROID Maxx, which would make it even more appealing I guess because of the battery it will carry. Anyhow, there’s still no world when can we expect this device but it should arrive soon. Motorola really did unveil a bunch of great devices at their recent event in Chicago, this would be a perfect follow up when I think about it. Does anyone want something like this?
