By now you should have heard of the Moto 360. If you haven’t then not sure where you have been. The Moto 360 is Motorola’s first take on Android Wear and smartwatches. The device caught everyone’s attention immediately as it broke the rules in offering a round smartwatch. Who would have thought it! A round watch!
Well, to celebrate (and of course promote) the device, Motorola have uploaded a video of the Moto 360’s journey from conception to inception on to their YouTube channel. The videos only runs for 58 seconds and charts the journey the 360 has been on in quite an entertaining way. The video begins by showing the smartwatch in its early days and initial designs, moving on to its manufacturing and finally concluding with the actual product. It is worth noting the video makes sure along to way to reference its watch features including genuine leather and scratch resistant glass. Strangely though the video almost does not at all focus on the actual smart-features of the device with the exception of a brief “OK Google” reference at the end. You would expect a company promoting a smartwatch might more heavily show what it can do. Instead, Motorola seems to be going down the fashion and style route, focusing more on the fact than it is a watch than necessarily a smartwatch. The video is down below if you want to check it out for yourself.
If you are interested in this new technology than you can purchase it from either Google Play or Best Buy (who also have a new Stone colored version of the device). The smartwatch runs on Android Wear operating system, offers 1.56″ LCD display (320 x 290, 205 ppi) and 512 MB RAM. The device comes with its own 4 GB internal storage, Bluetooth and includes a Pedometer and heart rate monitor. The battery on the device is only a 320mAH battery and some users are noting the daily battery life is poorer than expected and especially when using the Ambient Display feature. Either way, if you are interested in the device (or the story of its development) then do check out the video below. As always, leave a comment letting us know your opinion on this year’s hot smartwatch.
