Oppo is one of the more interesting smartphone manufacturers out there. The China-based company has gained the attention of international consumers when they launched their premium Oppo N1 device last year. That thing was beautiful although quite big thanks to the rotating camera on the top of the device’s body. Even the packaging was beautiful and the device performed just fine. Recently the rumors surrounding N1’s successor (dubbed N3 for some reason) started getting some traction and we even got 2 renders of the device. The first render is kind of hard to take seriously, it is kind of odd and the camera ‘tube’ on the top of the device just looks plain weird, I really doubt this will be the final design of the device. The second render, on the other hand, is far more believable and something I can definitely get on board with. We don’t get to see the whole device there, but even the upper back body is enough to get some sort of an opinion.
Renders aside, Oppo has shared some information on the build of the device through its official Weibo account. Oppo said that Oppo N3 will be “built for what may come” in other words this device will apparently sport “aerospace grade metal” build. This will reportedly offer great resilience and yet make the device really light. This doesn’t exactly tell us the exact material they plan to use, it could be anything ranging from stainless steel to titanium, though I doubt they’ll use something overly expensive. Stainless steel could be an option I guess or some sort of aluminum, that’s just me guessing though. We’ve also seen a leaked image of what appears to be Oppo N3’s cooling system recently.
The latest info says that the device will launch at Oppo’s event in Singapore on October 15th, though I don’t doubt we’ll see many more leaks before then. There’s still no word on device’s specifications or anything like that, but one thing’s for sure, you can expect that rotating camera on the top of the device no matter how Oppo ends up designing the thing.
