RUMOR: HTC One M8 Max Could Come Before the End of the Year

We had almost given up on seeing the HTC One M8 Max this year, or ever. Simply because we hadn’t heard much of anything about the device in a few months. But with HTC’s own event creeping up in about a week’s time, more and more rumors are coming out about what the company may be announcing at that event. We heard rumors earlier this year of a One M8 Max/Prime which was also said to have been scraped. But a new report out of Chinese website MyDrivers, reports that the One M8 Max may be here before the end of the year. And if it does, we’d venture to guess that it’d be announced at their “Double Exposure” event next week. As they would need to get this on shelves before mid-November.

This report points to a 5.5-inch 2560×1440 resolution display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor which is a quad-core CPU and clocked at 2.7GHz. Additionally, it’ll have 3GB of RAM, 18MP camera and a 3000mAh battery. The phone – or phablet in some cases – will be built out of aluminum, much like the HTC One M8 was. The specs all sound really nice, especially the camera bump. An 18MP camera should keep most people happy. And so will the 3GB of RAM.

It’s tough to say whether we expect to see the HTC One M8 Max at their NYC event next week, but we will be there to find out exactly what the company has to show off. Whether it’s the HTC One M8 EYE, the HTC EYE, or a HTC One M8 Max, we’ll be there for all the details. How many of you are looking forward to a 5.5-inch version of the  One M8, essentially, with better specs, and a much better camera? Let us know in the comments below.
