Earlier this year, Sony announced the Xperia Z1 Compact, which was met with plenty of love. As it was a mini phone, but without the mini specs. The only difference between the Xperia Z1 and the Xperia Z1 Compact was the screen size and related to it, the battery size. That’s what Sony has done again with the Xperia Z3 Compact, which they just announced at IFA 2014.
The Xperia Z3 Compact features a 4.6-inch 720p display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, along with a 2600mAh battery and a 20MP camera. Which means it’s going to take amazing pictures, as that is the same sensor we’ve had on the last few Sony flagships like the Xperia Z1, Z2, and now the Z3. It is a 4.6-inch 720p display, but it’s still going to be a pretty good display, given that the PPI is still going to be pretty high.

Sony is really going to be taking it to the iPhone 6 when that gets announced next week, as Apple has been rumored to be readying a 4.7-inch iPhone, and this 4.6-inch Xperia Z3 Compact from Sony will stand up pretty well to the competition. Especially when compared to phones in that size range. The Xperia Z3 Compact will be available this fall, but we aren’t sure if it is coming to the US. Although we really hope it does, as we’ve been fans of their previous smartphones and especially the Xperia Z1 Compact from CES earlier this year.
Oh, and don’t forget, it’s also waterproof. Just like every other Sony smartphone and tablet in the past 2 years. So you can go swimming with it, and in fact, Sony tells you too. So how many of you are interested in picking up the Sony Xperia Z3 Compact? Be sure to let us know in the comments below.
