Motorola’s heavily sought after smartwatch the Moto 360 is now official and can now be purchased through various outlets. While there are already a couple of Android Wear devices out and available that launched earlier this year, with the LG G Watch and the Samsung Gear Live, the Moto 360 has been the device on everybody’s minds due to the nature of the premium material use in the device build as well as the unique round watch face. Starting now, interested consumers can purchase the Moto 360 at a handful of different retailers.
If you’re looking to get your hands on one of these watches, you’ll be able to do so at select brick and mortar Best Buy locations as well as on Best Buy’s website, and of course directly from Motorola at motorola.com, and as expected, through Google Play as well for $249, or $299 for the model with the stainless steel band. The Moto 360 is the modern timepiece, the classic wrist watch reimagined as a watch that does more but still looks like a classic watch with effortless and timeless style. Of course you already know the watch has a round display, you can tell just by looking at it. The watch face housing is made from stainless steal and the bands from genuine leather(there will of course be stainless steal banded models as well)and it weighs just 49g with the leather strap on. We say with the leather strap on because just like with the other Android Wear smartwatches, it will be removable if you wish to swap bands at any point.
It also supports wireless charging via the cradle that it sits on top of, allowing the Moto 360 to look amazing even when not being worn. The display is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass, giving the display underneath an extra layer of protection just in case. It’s also dust and water resistant with the IP67 rating up to 1 meter for a maximum time frame of 30 minutes, so you can rest easy about it getting a little bit wet. The Moto 360 uses Bluetooth 4.0 LE to connect so it should use as little battery power as possible, and it supports devices running at least Android 4.3 or higher, although you’ll definitely want to make sure to check the compatibility from g.co/WearCheck just to be sure.
