Motorola has finally unveiled its long-awaited Moto X refresh and we’re getting more and more information about its availability. Motorola confirmed that the handset will become available later this month and Verizon, AT&T and US Cellular have confirmed they’ll carry the phone this fall, no specific dates were given. Verizon however offers a sign-up page in order to keep you informed if you don’t want to follow what’s going on yourself. US Cellular on the other hand just said it will carry the phone this month, without any specific dates. We’ll probably see the device available on all of the biggest carriers in US, just like its predecessor. AT&T has also mentioned that it will carry the Moto X (2014), not only that, but it also mentioned that Motorola’s new bluetooth headset “Moto Hint” will also be available.
Motorola announced new Moto X (2014) and Moto G (2014) smartphones yesterday along with its Moto 360 smartwatch and the aforementioned Moto Hint bluetooth headset. Moto X is sporting a 5.2-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) AMOLED display along with 2GB of RAM and 16 or 32GB of non-expandable internal storage. The device is powered by a Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor by Qualcomm which is clocked at 2.5GHz and comes with an Adreno 330 GPU. 13-megapixel camera is located at the back of the device and you can find a 2-megapixel shooter on the front. The device comes with Android 4.4.4 KitKat out of the box. 2300mAh battery is located inside and is juicing up the device. On top of all that, the device also has front-facing speakers which is always a nice touch. As for the software, you can read more about it if you follow the link above. Motorola offers some really compelling software as part of the package, like they did with the 1st-gen Moto X. The device will set you back $99 if you’re purchasing it on contract, otherwise you’ll have to splash out $499 in order to buy this thing.
What surprised me most about this device is the metal frame Motorola decided to include in the design, which is a welcomed addition and it seems a slew of carriers will offer the phone in the recent future so you won’t have to wait for months in order to purchase it. Your thoughts on the device, will you buy it?
