Smartisan T1 device was announced back in May. That was a 3G device and everyone was wondering if the company plans on releasing the 4G version of the device. We finally got the answer to that question, Smartisan T1 4G will be available starting October 18th for 3500 Yuan, which is about $570. That actually brings it on par with the 3G version’s price at launch, which was also 3500 Yuan for the 16GB version. This 4G model will be available in 16 and 32GB variants according to the source.
Let’s go over Smartisan T1’s specifications, the device is sporting a 4.95-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display protected by Gorilla Glass 3. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor clocked at 2.5GHz is powering this device along with an Adreno 330 GPU. Smartisan T1 comes with 3GB of RAM and it will be available in 16 and 32GB variants. As far as cameras go, Sony’s Exmor RS 12.78-megapixel CMOS sensor with Fujitsu Milbeaut Mobile will be located at the back of this device while we’ll see a 5-megapixel sensor on the front of the device (f/2.4 aperture). This device comes with the usual array of sensors and connectivity options. Bluetooth 4.0 LE, NFC, GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, USB 2.0 and miracast have all launched with the 3G version and will be present in the 4G version as well. The device supports Hi-Fi mode with an embedded OPA2604 Operational Amplifier chip from Texas Instruments and you might notice the device looks similar to some iPhone devices. There’s a good reason for that, Smartisan T1 was designed by an ex-Apple designer, Robert Brunner. The device is based on Android 4.4 KitKat OS but it runs a custom Smartisan OS on top of it, for those of you who don’t know, Smartisan is actually an Android ROM which has been available for a while.
We’ll let you know as soon as we find out more details about this thing, but you can basically expect the same device that was launched back in May which adds 4G support. No word on availability of this device either at this point. Your thoughts?
