Smartisan T1 (the 3G variant) was announced back in May and yesterday we reported that the 4G variant of that device will be available starting on October 18th in China. As a reminder, that devices comes with a 4.95-inch 1080p display, 3GB of RAM and 16 or 32GB of internal storage. Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor clocked at 2.5GHz is powering that thing and the device features Sony’s Exmor RS 12.78-megapixel CMOS camera on the back. You can check the rest of the specifications on the link above. It is very clear that the “T” line is Smartisan’s flagship line and we already have some new developments when it comes to this.
Just a day after the T1 4G was announced, we have a leaked image for you of its successor, Smartisan T2. According to the source from China, this device will feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 octa-core 64-bit processor which uses big.LITTLE architecture. The device will reportedly come with LPDDR4 RAM and offer 4K resolution support. Smartisan T1 is 8.2mm thick and hopefully T2 won’t be much thicker than that. Smartisan isn’t exactly a big company, though we have to say that the T1 device was rather impressive and it seems T2 will follow in its footsteps.
Unfortunately we didn’t get any more news when it comes to this device, all we have thus far is that leaked image above. We can’t exactly get much information from it though considering we only see the back of the device, I hope we’ll see more leaks soon although I doubt this device will launch anytime soon. I doubt Smartisan will launch company’s new flagship 6 months after launching T1, this device is more likely to be launched in mid-2015. It will be tough for Smartisan to compete with some bigger players from China, not to mention some huge corporations worldwide, but this device sure sounds promising. I doubt they’ll be able to jeopardize manufacturers like Xiaomi and Meizu, let alone some bigger companies abroad, but it will be interesting to see this device and how will they try to make a difference.
