Pre-orders for the Motorola Nexus 6 opened up today in the US through the Google Play Store and the device sold out within the hour. Pre-orders for the Nexus 6 were also supposed to open in Europe on November 3rd but unfortunately it no longer looks like that will be the case. Now the Nexus 6 pre-orders will open on on November 18th, 15 days later than before, a sure disappointment for European Nexus fans.
US residents should have their shiny new Google Nexus 6 come November 3rd, while European residents will no longer even be able to pre-order the device by then. And with the pre-order date in Europe moved to November 18th, there is really no telling when European residents will be able to actually get their hands on the device. It could, and probably will take weeks after the pre-orders have been placed on November 18th before customers devices begin shipping. That means that customers in Europe who pre-order the Nexus 6 will probably not get their device until mid to late December or possibly early January.
If you reside in Europe and had intentions of pre-ordering the Nexus 6, don’t worry just yet. As of now, there is still no word on whether or not this delay will affect all of Europe or just select parts of Europe. But at the same time, don’t get your hopes up as the delay will more than likely affect all of Europe, just stay positive. A retailer located in the UK has already publicly confirmed that they have received word from Google saying that the Nexus 6 pre-orders are indeed delayed until November 18th. We hate to be negative but from this we logically assume that the rest of Europe will be affected by the same delays. Our hearts go out to those in the Europeans market who had intentions of pre-ordering a Nexus 6, the delay is a longer than we expected it would be. At the end of the day there is nothing anybody can do, just be a little more patient than the rest of us and start hitting that refresh button on the Play Store come November 18th.
