Huawei is one of those Chinese companies which is rather known worldwide. Regular consumers would probably recognize the brand, even outside of China. Huawei has lots of competition in the Chinese market though, we all know that, so the pressure on the company is rather significant. Huawei released a rather interesting device last month, a device we’ve also reviewed quite recently, Huawei Ascend Mate 7. Many people instantly think about HTC One Max when they see this device, there’s a good reason for that. No denying that Mate 7 took inspiration from One Max’s design, not only do they sport similar build materials and form factor, but you can find fingerprint scanners on the back of each of these devices. It seems like Mate 7 sales are going better than we though, Huawei announced via Twitter that the company sold over 1 million Ascend Mate 7 devices in 1 month. Keep in mind that this device hasn’t launched worldwide just yet, so the most of these units were sold in China. Huawei could sell tons of these once they launch it worldwide, considering it really is a great offering by this Chinese company.
Huawei Ascend Mate 7 comes in 2 versions, the only difference between the two are the amount of RAM and internal storage. Cheaper variant comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage (black and white models) while the more expensive model ships with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage (gold model). Other than that, specifications of these 2 models are the same. Ascend Mate 7 features a 6-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) IPS LCD display and it also offers MicroSD expansion, in case 16 or 32GB of internal storage is not enough for you. On the back of the device, you’ll find a 13-megapixel sensor and a dual LED flash while there’s 5-megapixel snapper located on the front of the device. Ascend Mate 7 is powered by HiSilicon Kirin 925 octa core processor (quad-core 1.8GHz Cortex-A15 and quad-core 1.3GHz Cortex-A7) which comes with Mali-T628 GPU for graphics processing. This device comes with a non-removable 4100mAh battery which should provide plenty of juice for you to use and Android 4.4 KitKat comes pre-installed with Huawei’s Emotion UI 3 on top of it.
