Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro With 6-inch QHD Display Launched in India

I for one cannot wait until Lenovo finally takes the reins of Motorola – it seems like Lenovo is hesitating to bring its smartphones to the U.S. until the transition of Motorola to Lenovo takes place – and this means that we are missing out on experiencing some pretty remarkable smartphones.  Nobody wants to see Motorola messed with too much, so I think that Lenovo is the perfect company to buy them, as they handled, with due respect, the purchasing of the IBM ThinkPad series and I believe they will handle Motorola with the reverence they deserve.

Lenovo has just launched another high-end phablet in India that will be exclusively sold on the Flipkart website for Rs32,999, or about US$534 starting on October 6.  The Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro has a metallic frame and brushed weaved design in a plastic body…although a very high-grade of materials.  It sports an incredible 6-inch QHD IPS LCD display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels with 500nits maximum brightness and very small bezels.  It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 clocked at 2.5GHz (the same processor in the Galaxy S5, LG G3 and Xperia Z3), with the Adreno 330 GPU, all backed up with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of non-expandable internal storage.

The main camera is a 16MP shooter with a Dual-LED flash, Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), auto focus, auto scene detection, ultra-night mode, anti-lens distortion, Pro Mode to adjust settings manually and a 16:9 BSI sensor.  It also packs a 5MP front-facing camera (FFC) for an excellent video chat or selfie experience.

The Vibe Z2 Pro provides a Dual-SIM, 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP, GPS, NFC and is powered by a 4000mAh battery.  It measures 156 x 81.3 x 7.7mm and weighs in at 179 grams.  It will be available in Titanium, Gold, and Black.  Sudhin Mathur, Director- Smartphones, Lenovo India, said:

“The Vibe Z2 Pro resonates with consumers who are looking at a powerful and premium smartphone that reflects their lifestyle aspirations.  It’s a complete package for users who are discerning, tech-savvy and demand nothing less than the best-in-class.”

One of the most exciting features is that while the Vibe Z2 pro runs Android 4.4.KitKat with its Vibe UI 2.0, it also has an option to boot with stock Android!  I am hoping this is something that with eventually tie into the Motorola purchase, allowing users to keep stock Android if they so desire.  I don’t know about you, but I would love to see this device come to the U.S…please hook up with us on our Google+ Page and let us know what you think of the Lenovo and Motorola buy-out…as always, we would love to hear from you.
