LG has been known for not only pushing the envelope when it comes to specs as they have become known more recently, but also for providing decent experiences for those that either can’t, or simple don’t want to, pay the bug bucks for a G3 or something similar. For LG, the goal is to ship quality experiences, even if the specs might not necessarily be up to scratch. This year, LG have already released a few budget-minded handsets that take more than a little inspiration from the LG G3, with the G3 Stylus recently launching in India. This time around, the F60 is a device that’s aimed more towards everybody, with a manageable 4.5-inch display and 4G LTE support.
The F60 is pretty much a deadringer for the Nexus 5, but yous adly won’t find similar specs under the hood. Instead, you’re looking at a 4.5-inch 800 x 480 display with a 1.2 Ghz Snapdragon 400 running the show with a 2,100 mAh battery. Imaging isn’t exactly stellar here with a 5-megapixel camera around the back and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing shooter, but then again this is designed to be for those on a fairly tight budget. One thing that the F60 has going for it is of course 4G LTE support and it’s this that should help the device take off in emerging markets.
Elsewhere, the software is Android 4.4.4 KitKat and there are key features from the G3’s software stack ported over, too. KnockCode comes along for the ride as well as the general look and feel, too. So while the specs aren’t great, LG have done their best to put together a quality experience overall. Sadly, LG haven’t said where the F60 is going to be available, or how much it’ll cost. However, they did tell us that it’ll be available in both single and dual-SIM variants and I can imagine this hitting Latin America first, with the middle-east and Asia to follow shortly after.
