Meizu MX4 sure does sell like hotcakes and everything, but it had a little problem as far as software goes. You didn’t get Google Play support built-in with Flyme 4.0 OS, which is the OS Meizu uses on top of Android 4.4.4 KitKat. Well, this China-based company has released a 4.0.2l update for its operating system and it updates a lot of stuff, most notably it brings Google Play along with it. You were able to install the Google Installer APK on Flyme 4.0, which is a relatively simple process, there’s no need for that now thanks to this update. Other than bringing Google Play support, 4.0.2l update also fixes some bugs and tweaks certain parts of the UI in order to deliver a better user experience overall.
Quick Wake gestures are going to work even if your phone is locked and inactive, all you have to do is swipe from the left to open the app you’ve set for that gesture or wipe from the right to activate the camera. Swiping up from the home button has also been improved, it’s way more accurate now according to GizChina. Proximity sensor has also been improved when unlocking the phone and Meizu has added a new feature which lets you override it by using volume control. This Chinese manufacturer has also added 25 new languages to Flyme. This update sure brings a lot of goodies, so we recommend you to get it as soon as possible, especially if you haven’t installed Google Play just yet… even though I believe that vast majority of you owning Meizu MX4 have done that already.
