Meizu MX4 sales are going better than the company has hoped for, a lot better in fact. Meizu had issues meeting the demand when it comes to this phone recently, though everything is back on track now. Meizu even announced 2 new version of their MX4 device recently, MX4 Gold and Silverwing versions which are already available for pre-order in China and will be available internationally in the future. Meizu’s next move is to release much-rumored MX4 Pro handset which will replace the MX4 as company’s flagship it seems. We’ve seen tons of material when it comes to this device and Meizu’s Vice President just shared some additional details with the public.
Meizu’s VP, Li Nan, shared some details with us via Weibo (Chinese social network). According to what he said, the leaked renders we’ve seen recently might actually be legit. He basically confirmed that the dot below the screen is going away for the time being and will be replaced by a fingerprint scanner on the MX4 Pro. That dot basically symbolized Meizu’s MX line and is present on the MX4 as well, but it seems Meizu didn’t have any choice but to remove it in order to implement a fingerprint sensor instead. If you take a look at the leaked render (pictured above), you’ll see that the home button / fingerprint scanner is nicely designed and if the company manages to do a good job with it, I’m sure nobody will mind its implementation. Mr. Nan also said that the dot will quite probably return in the future, which is to be expected.
It is also confirmed at this point that Meizu will launch MX4 Pro in November though we don’t know the exact date just yet. According to rumors, this device will feature a 5.4-inch 2K display (quite probably manufactured by Sharp) along with 3GB of RAM and that same 20.7-megapixel sensor by Sony which Meizu already implemented in the original MX4. Samsung’s Exynos 5430 octa-core processor will reportedly power on this beast. Pricing is also still unknown, but the reports are saying it could be priced around 2,499 Yuan ($408) in China, which is a great price no matter which way you spin this. Keep in mind that the price will be higher internationally, if Meizu decides to launch this device worldwide that is.
