Omate Is Set to Launch The Lutetia Smartwatch For The Ladies

From the beginning of smartwatch time, most of what we have seen has been geared toward men. Why Do I say that? Well if you look at the the smart watches we have now-a-days from the Samsung Gear Live, to Moto’s 360, they are all bulky and look to fit on a masculine type person. The big and bulky wearables don’t have any type of characteristics to them that look like they would suite the ladies. Well these one sided days will soon be over thanks to Omate, the creator of the Omate X. The company plans to launch a new smart watch that is entirely dedicated to women and even made by a team of designers who were all women.

The female focused watched dubbed the, Omate Lutetia, is named after ancient Paris. The Lutetia is nearly rounded with an always on LCD screen. The watch is covered with a curved sapphire crystal glass piece which should be really sturdy. The Omate Lutetia comes in three colors which are silver, rose gold and just plain old gold. The wristband of the watch is beaded and made of stainless steel, and the overall look is could be exactly what a female would look for in a fashionable device. Now to dig around in the hardware, the Omate Lutetia is powered by a MediaTek’s Aster MT2502 platform and runs on Nucleus RTOS. The processor and OS offer the watch a week long life of battery power. Unlike flagship smartwatches, Omates watches do no act like a full-fledged cellular device. Omate’s watches mainly serve as a notification center. They do offer some nice perks like a pedometer, music controls, weather, stopwatch, timer and voice control features. Going by that, Omate’s watches are nothing near the Gear 2 or Gear S, but they get the job done.

According to Omates CEO, instead of competing with full fledged smart watches like Pebble, Laurent Le Pen, says that the Lutetia will be going after their competitors such as Calvin Klein, Guess, and D&G. The Lutetia is expected to debut tomorrow and is also available for pre-order which starts at $169. Shipping of the smartwatch will be some time around December. So if you’re a young lady that is in search of a smartwatch that is geared toward you than you can head on over to Omates Website and pre-order the Lutetia now. The first 1,000 “limited edition” units will get their unique codes engraved on the back, so you’ll have a touch of something special on that brand new watch.
