The OnePlus One is in many ways a great device. As far as specifications, design and price go, OnePlus really nailed it. Unfortunately, this whole invitation-only rule has managed to annoy a whole lot people and pushed them away from this device, I actually know a number of them. This was a problem at least initially, considering you can basically get one of these without the invitation nowadays through various sources. Anyhow, OnePlus recently got a new and exciting accessory, JBL E1+ Earphones. OnePlus partnered with JBL, American audio electronics company, in order for that to happen. These are premium earphones which come with a 9mm JBL drivers outfitted with PureBass technology, they’ll be available for purchase in October and will cost you $39.99. You can find out more about these if you follow this link.
In any case, Liu Zuohu had something interesting to say after the E1+ release. OnePlus’ CEO said in an interview that the company’s second product is currently still under development and that it will be released in the second quarter of 2015. OnePlus One 2, OnePlus Two or whatever they end up calling it is on its way folks, I hope OnePlus learned from its mistakes and that we’ll get a new and improved successor to an already great OnePlus One. OnePlus’ CEO also mentioned that the market has found OnePlus One either rough around the edges as far as the design goes or bloated, the company will try to change that. OnePlus One comes with CyanogenMod pre-installed and it offers lots of features along with it, it seems like OnePlus intends to change something about that in the future. I hope CyanogenMod will stay an integral part of OnePlus One’s successor though, even if they intend to make it more appealing out of the box. I don’t think these remarks are exactly accurate, OnePlus One is a great looking device, at least in my humble opinion, though a bit too big for my taste. Same goes for its software, it had its kinks at first but all of that was sorted through a few quick updates from Cyanogen team. Mr. Zuohu also added that OnePlus will try to upon OnePlus One’s success and offer its sequel in even more countries in 2015.
What are your thoughts on all this, do you like the OnePlus One as it is right now? What would you do differently when it comes to its successor?
