OPPO’s been outgoing about their upcoming launch event scheduled for tomorrow. It’s the OPPO N3 which will be announced at events in Singapore and China, but there’s also another smartphone which will join the N3 at launch. It is the OPPO R5, but OPPO hasn’t nearly been as vocal about this one as it has about the N3. From what we recall, the N3 will come with the same swivel type camera as the N1, but this time with a motorized mechanism. It isn’t clear how exactly the motorized mechanism’s going to help, but we believe it could be for the perfect panorama.
The N3 will also have a fingerprint reader, which will be a first for OPPO. Even it’s 2014 flagship from the Find series, the Find 7, doesn’t sport one, so it is clear that OPPO’s betting big on the N3. Besides that, the smartphone will be offered in a couple of different body construction options depending on your preferences between durability and weight (or the lack of it). Details about the R5 are, however, scarce to say the least, at the moment. However, there’s just about a day to go before we know it all.
The only glimpse we were provided at the R5 was when OPPO dished out a teaser out of the blue. Before that, it was believed that it would only be the N3 that is launched. R series devices from the Chinese manufacturer are often more affordable than N-series or the Find series, but at the same time, cost more than similarly spec’d devices from other Chinese OEMs. R series phones are also known for the style quotient that incorporate; so you can expect to see a stylishly thin device with a somewhat affordable price tag today (word is that it’ll cost US$499, but we’ll wait before commenting on that further). Of course we’re only speculating, take it with a grain of salt.
What do you think will make the OPPO R5? Do let us know in the comments section below. Also tell us what features you’d like to see on the device, something like VOOC fast charging maybe?
