Samsung definitely made a step forward when it comes to the design of their devices when they launched the Galaxy Alpha. This Korean giant announced the Galaxy Alpha back in August and introduced metal to its design, combined with plastic (polycarbonate) of course. The device looks great, it really does. This isn’t a high-end device though, it sports solid specs, but it’s not top of the line. Samsung basically made this device to announce what’s about to come, the company has launched Galaxy Note 4 and Note Edge devices at this year’s IFA in Berlin and both fo those devices sport similar build, despite the fact they’re completely different than the Alpha in basically all other aspects. Samsung also intends to make a whole line of devices based of off the Galaxy Alpha, the “A” line. We’ve already seen / heard lots of rumors about Galaxy A3, A5 and A7. Some additional info surfaced when it comes to the A7.
It was revealed a while ago that the Galaxy A7 will feature a full HD display though we weren’t sure if only Chinese variant will sport it or every variant of the device. The user agent profile for the SM-A700FD on Samsung’s official website lists a full HD resolution for the display of that phone, the “D” stands for dual-SIM version. It is well known that China likes these dual-SIM phones and even flagships sport them over there, like the Note 4 for example. SamMobile’s sources said a long time ago that the Galaxy A7 will have dual-SIM slots, so that could mean this device will launch in other markets in dual-SIM variant as well, which would also mean it will sport a full HD display outside of China as well. The user agent profile also confirms that the A7 will feature a 64-bit processor. These devices should start rolling out in November with Android 4.4 KitKat pre-installed, though I’m sure Samsung will update them to Android 5.0 Lollipop in due time.
Do you even care about the Dual SIM capability of smartphones? I really don’t need an additional SIM card slot, but I know a lot of people who actually prefer it, so I’d like to hear what you think.
