About two weeks ago, Sony held an event in New York City to announce the Xperia Z3v for Verizon. We actually just posted our review of the device a few minutes ago. The Xperia Z3v is a member of the Xperia Z3 family, but not quite an Xperia Z3. It does feature a 5.2-inch 1080p IPS display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage with a microSD card slot, 20.7MP camera with a 3200mAh battery and it does have Qi Wireless Charging built in. Yes it has Qi Wireless charging out of the box, which is kinda surprising as we thought carriers were the reason why most phones didn’t have Qi wireless charging. But I’ve been charging the Xperia Z3v with a Qi charger all week, and it’s pretty cool.
Verizon is offering the Xperia Z3v for $199 on a new year contract. You can grab it for $599 at full retail, or for $24.99 a month on Verizon EDGE. Not bad pricing there. In fact, the full price is a bit cheaper than the Xperia Z3 over on T-Mobile which is $630. So not too bad considering everything you get with the Xperia Z3v.
If you’re looking for a nice, premium smartphone from Sony, that works with your PlayStation 4 for remote play, then this is a great choice here. And if you’re on Verizon and not looking to head elsewhere, it’s your only choice. Well there’s also the Xperia Z2 Tablet, but phone wise the Xperia Z3v is your only choice. I’d definitely recommend this to anyone out there looking to pick up a Sony phone. Also the Galaxy Note 4 is launching today on Verizon, for those interested in that, and next week Verizon is launching a new DROID, so lots of goodies coming from Verizon lately.
