The Sprint Buyback Trade-In Program Matches Pricing Offered By Other Carriers

Sprint announced their new trade-in program called Sprint buyback last month in September, which set it on a path to match the offered pricing for trade-ins at other carriers, and is now in full effect. Sprint is committed to offering customers the best trade in prices for their old devices over AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon Wireless for all new lines coming to the network. The trade in offers given to customers when they sign up can give them an instant credit for immediate use in store on things like a new phone or an account credit for the bill and charges, something that is nice to see compared to trade-ins from other carriers who offer buyback programs but usually take a little longer getting the money back into the hands of customers.

This could be considered a great deal when used in conjunction with the purchase of a brand new iPhone 6 on Sprint’s network, which was also recently announced alongside a brand new plan offering up unlimited talk, text, and data for the iPhone 6 for the low monthly cost of $50. Sprint also points out that they offer customers the ability to trade in up to three phones per line and a total of five in a whole calendar year, making it even easier to get some money to put towards a new handset and adding some extra reasons to think about switching to Sprint.

Phone trade-in programs seem to be a major part of the wireless business now, throwing extra incentives at customers to stick with their wireless provider or check out the competition. Out of all phone buy back programs, Sprint states that they were ranked as having the number one buyback program for the past three years according to Compass Intelligence which is a market analytics and consulting firm. Sprint still has a ways to go before they match up on areas like data speeds in a wider set of areas compared to other carriers, but they have been making notable improvements there as well as in offered services since Marcelo Claure took over as CEO. Are you a current Sprint subscriber? Do you use the phone buyback program and if not, will you now that they have announced and started their commitment to match all buyback offers from other carriers?
