Since HTC’s Double Exposure Event back at the start of October most HTC One M8 owners have been waiting for the new software suite dubbed the ‘Eye Experience’ to reach their devices. The new software looks to be quite interesting and heavily focused on improving the selfie experience with many new features. These include the ability to take both front and back images simultaneously and also the ability for the HTC One M8’s camera to take a picture automatically. At the Double Exposure event HTC announced the software would roll-out to all HTC One M8 devices, or at the very least as many as they could.
With so many regional and carrier variants, receiving the update was largely dependent on where you were and which carrier you used. As early as the day after the event, reports begun to come in that the update had already began rolling-out to European variants of the One M8. This was followed a few days later by news that unlocked versions of the One M8 were receiving the update. More recently (last week) it was reportedly that One M8 devices on T-Mobile had commenced receiving the update. Around about the same time reports also started coming in that Verizon Wireless One M8 owners had also started seeing the update hitting their devices.
Now it seems it is Sprint’s turn to get in on the Eye action. Mo Versi (HTC’s VP, Product Management) let loose the news on his twitter account. According to the post, Sprint HTC One M8’s will begin to see the roll-out hitting their devices from tonight. In addition, Versi also noted that the Harman Kardon Edition owners can also expect to see the update coming their way. As it is a tweet not much more information was provided other than they had received “technical approval” for the update and as such are free to send it out. Are you a Sprint One M8 owner? Are you looking forward to the update and the new Eye Experience software? If you do start seeing the update anytime soon, leave a comment below and let others know that it is certainly on its way and what they can expect.
