Verizon Wireless Have Begun Rolling Out HTC Eye Experience Update To HTC One M8 Devcies

At HTC’s Double Exposure event a couple of weeks ago we were made privy to HTC’s worse kept secret, the RE Camera. In addition to the RE Camera HTC also advised of the launch of the HTC Desire Eye smartphone which was dubbed the selfie phone due to its large 13MP front facing shooter. But that was not all. On top of this HTC announced the launch of their new camera based software, Eye Experience. In brief this software suite offers multiple enhanced and unique camera facilities and especially those aimed towards the selfie-lover. For instance with Eye Experience users could literally take automatic selfies where the camera automatically takes the picture. There is also the ability to voice command the camera to take the image. However, one of the more notable features was the double taking in which users could simultaneously snap images using the front and back cameras at the same time.

Just to make the deal a little sweeter, HTC also announced that they would roll out the Eye Experience to other HTC devices including as many of the HTC One series devices as they could. There was no specific time-frame given as to when the roll out would commence or as to when certain variants, carriers and regional devices would receive it. That said, as early as the very next day we started getting reports that European One M8 owners were starting to receive the update OTA.

For news a little closer to home (if you are US based that is) then we can now confirm that Verizon Wireless have begun rolling out the update for their HTC One M8. One of our readers has reported the update and provided a handy little screenshot to verify that the update is rolling out and does contain the Eye Experience software (thanks for the heads-up Jake). As you can see in the image this update brings Android up to 4.4.4 (build version 3.28.401.6) and began rolling out via OTA today. So if you are US based, rocking an HTC One M8 running on Verizon then you should certainly expect to receive the update anytime soon. That is if you haven’t already. If you have then what do you think of the update and the new Eye Experience? Let us know.

Thanks again Jake
