Xiaomi is all over the place recently. The company is expanding incredibly fast and world’s biggest OEMs should be worried at this point. Xiaomi will beat its estimated 60 million shipments this year and this Chinese manufacturer intends to ship 100 million handsets next year, not to mention Xiaomi is planning to expand all over the place. They are already doing business in India, via Flipkart, but Xiaomi intends to expand its business to India, as well as Latin America and Russia. We’re talking about second, third and fourth biggest market here. This company is already China’s number one vendor and placed third in the world, if these expansion plans go as planned, they will be ready to take sit at the top of that list. The questions remains if Xiaomi’s transition to other markets will go as smoothly as planned, but it will be interesting to see Xiaomi adapting to other markets.
Mi4 is Xiaomi’s current flagship handset. This handset has launched back in July and it has been an extremely successful product for Xiaomi thus far. You probably already know its details thus far, but just in case you don’t, let’s go over its specs real quick. Xiaomi Mi4 features a 5-inch 1080p IPS LCD display along with 3GB of RAM and 16 or 64GB of non-expandable internal storage. This smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 801 quad-core chip clocked at 2.5GHz which ships with an Adreno 330 GPU for graphics processing. 13-megapixel camera flanked by a dual-LED flash is located on the back of this device, while you’ll find a 5-megapixel snapper up front. Non-removable 3o80mAh battery comes with this device while Android 4.4.3 KitKat comes pre-installed with Xiaomi’s very own MIUI on top of it.
Xiaomi Mi4 sports premium build, it is made out of metal and the device just can’t escape the comparison to some Apple iPhone products, which is not a bad thing I guess, the device looks really good in my humble opinion, but opinions differ of course. The main selling point of this handset is of course its price, it is significantly lower than those of the competition, the device is priced around 1999 Yuan ($326) in China if I’m not mistaken. Xiaomi has launched the black version of this handset last month and we bring you a bunch of unboxing images of this handset, courtesy of a Chinese website MyDrivers. As you can see in the images down below, the device sports a rather reflective back cover which will appeal to some while other will find it, well, not so good looking. The back cover is also textured, as you can see in the images. Anyhow, check out the images and tell us what you think, do you like the looks of the phone?
