HTC is having problems turning profit for quite some time now. The company did some re-structuring and cut costs in certain areas, thank to that, this Chinese smartphone manufacturer managed to turn profit in the last quarter. This won’t help them in the long run and HTC has to move a lot of phone. In comes HTC One M8, this handset was an extremely successful product for the company and actually helped them raise the sales number, unfortunately that usually doesn’t last long considering the pace of today’s technology, you can’t rely on one product for a long time. None the less, HTC One M8 (just like its predecessor) was a beautifully designed smartphone and many consumers around the world loved (and still love) this thing.
HTC’s One M8 launched with a 5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) IPS LCD3 display along with 2GB of RAM and 16 or 32 GB of internal storage. This handset is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 801 quad-core SoC clocked at 2.3GHz. On the back of this handset you’ll find 2 cameras actually, or as HTC calls them, dual 4-megapixel cameras, HTC’s UltraPixel technology is still present here. The device ships with Android 4.4 KitKat (will receive Android 5.0 Lollipop soon) with HTCs Sense 6 UI on top of it and a 2600mAh non-removable battery.
That being said, HTC One M9 is due to arrive in late Q1 next year and we’ve already seen some rumors when it comes to this device, same goes for concept designs. Concept designs are always fun, despite the fact they never come true, well, parts of them do perhaps. Anyhow, we’ve seen a concept design a while back, in September, and now we have yet another one to share with you. If you take a look below this article, you’ll notice a concept video and a bunch of images below it, courtesy of AndroidJS. The phone shown is beautiful, as most concepts are. I really like the design of this handset, it looks sleek and somewhat industrial, which suits my taste just fine. The video taunts a larger QHD screen, a more powerful processor (Snapdragon 808) and a higher-res camera. These specifications of course don’t mean much, wishful thinking by the designer, at least in most cases, but the video itself is quite nice, same goes for the renders provided.
