Meizu MX4 Pro Specs

 

Meizu has finally announced their much-leaked MX4 Pro handset, in case you missed our original announcement article, you can check it out here. This Chinese manufacturers really did go all out when it comes to this device, they included some really appealing specs in there and priced the device relatively low considering how much power is packed in there. Talking about its specs, let’s check out what’s hiding inside of this beast.

Let’s start things off with its thickness and weight, the device is 9mm thick and it weighs 158 grams. On the front of the device you’ll notice a 5.5-inch 2K (2560 x 1536) display with battery saving technology as Meizu calls it. The display is using a NEGA negative LCD panel with LED backlight produces pixel perfect images and drastically reduces battery consumption according to Meizu. 3GB of RAM are also included here in order to provide you a smooth multitasking experience and the device is powered by Samsung’s Exynos 5430, a 20nm “true” octa-core processor (A7 + A15 architecture) clocked at 2GHz which comes along with Mali-T628 MP6 GPU for graphics rendering. On the back of the device you’ll find a 20.7-megapixel camera (Sony’s sensor, IMX220 Exmor RS), like the one included in the original MX4. Meizu says that this camera takes only 0.3 seconds to focus. Front-facing shooter is also included of course, we’re talking about a 5-megapixels sensor up front, OmniVision OV5693 sensor to be exact. 3350mAh battery is included on the inside and should provide more than enough juice to get you through the day.

Retina sound is a part of this package and will provide 123db output, which is a nice touch. Talking about sounds, ES9018 and OPA 1612 Hi-Fi chips are also included in this package. Bezels on the side of the phone are only 2.8mm thick and the device sports metal and plastic build, something similar to the original MX4. This handset ships with Android 4.4 KitKat with Flyme 4 on top of it which comes with the usual array of Meizu features on top of it and Meizu MX4 has support for mPay, for those of you who like to pay that way. NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi ac and 4G connectivity are all included here, the phone supports China Unicom’s dual-4G connectivity as well. Let’s not forget about the fingerprint scanner Meizu has included here. This fingerprint scanner is located below the screen and is of touch-to-active variety. Audience eS704 audio chip supports voiceprint awakening. You can give out a specific keyword when the device is in sleep mode to wake it up and activate the voice assistant. Voiceprint recognition gets faster the more it is used and greatly enhances functionality. Furthermore, you can unlock the screen, dial phone numbers, and even get the weather report with voice commands if you don’t want to use the touchscreen or can’t do it at the time being.

The phone will be available in Gray, Gold and Silver colors in 16, 32 and 64GB variants and priced at 2499, 2699 and 3099 Yuan respectively.
