Meizu has launched MX4 Pro 2 days ago and the device managed to surpass 2 million pre-orders in the first 24 hours. The original MX4 defintiely helped Meizu to get additional publicity and get the MX4 Pro under a spotlight. There’s much to like when it comes to this handset, it offers great build quality and top-notch specifications for a rather affordable amount of money, the device is priced at 2,499 Yuan ($408) in China. For those of you interested in how Meizu MX4 Pro’s Samsung Exynos 5430 octa-core processor performs, well, keep reading.
You’ll find a couple of images in the gallery below this article, first image will show you detailed specs of 3 processors, Samsung Exynos 5430, Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 and MediaTek MT6595. These processors are located in Meizu MX4 Pro, Vivo Play 3S and the original Meizu MX4, respectively. These 3 phones (their processors rather) got compared in a number of benchmark tests, let’s see how they performed. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 801 chip is the best performer overall, Qualcomm’s chip tested better than Exynos 5430 and MT6595 in almost every test. Things were a bit different if we compare Exynos 5430 and MT6595, which is the most interesting comparison here considering these are the chips located in the MX4 and MX4 Pro. Samsung’s Exynos 5430 chip offered better GPU performance than the MT6595, which was to be expected considering this is an upgrade after all and the device needs more GPU power in order to power on that beautiful 2K display. Exynos 5430 tested better in pure CPU performance as well, though MT6595 wasn’t far behind, in real life performance you shouldn’t feel too much difference between these two SoC’s though. Meizu MX4 Pro sports a 5.5-inch 2K (2560 x 1536) display along with 3GB of RAM for your multitasking needs and 16, 32 or 64GB of internal storage, depending on which model you get, of course. This handset is powered by the aforementioned Samsung’s Exynos 5430 octa-core processor which comes with Mali-T628 MP6 GPU for graphics processing. On the back of this handset, you’ll find a 20.7-megapixel IMX220 sensor from Sony while there’s a 5-megapixel shooter up front, OmniVision’s sensor. This device ships with Android 4.4 KitKat and Flyme OS on top of it. 3350mAh battery is also a part of this package. The device measures 150.1 x 77 x 9mm and it weighs 158 grams. This is a 4G LTE capable handset and it will be available in China starting 6th of December for 2499 Yuan ($408) for a 16GB version, 32GB model will cost 2699 Yuan ($441) and the 64GB will set you back 3099 Yuan ($506).
